Crown College is committed to assuring equal access for students, staff, and faculty with disabilities, as well as guests and visitors to the campus. The College may permit an Emotional Support Animal, as determined on a case-by-case basis, to be on campus with a student with a documented disability as a reasonable accommodation.

Accommodations are not considered approved until the review process has been completed and approval has been granted by the Accommodations Team. Animals are not allowed on-campus and in College housing until the application process has been completed. Please refer to pages 9 and 10 of the policy for the application process. Any animal found to be in College housing without going through the full application process and that has not received approval from the Accommodations Team is considered a pet and will need to be removed from campus immediately. As a result, the owner of the animal may be fined $25 for the first infraction, $50 for the second, and $100 for the third. The cost to repair any damage done by the animal at any time, approved or not, is the sole responsibility of the owner of the animal.

Students requesting an Emotional Support Animal must provide documentation no older than one year.

Students must re-apply for Emotional Support Animal accommodations each academic year.

Student Responsibilities for All Accommodations:

• Identify himself/herself as a student with a disability by completing the Accommodation Application to request reasonable accommodations.
• Provide adequate documentation of the specific disability. Documentation must be signed by an appropriate professional qualified to diagnose the disability.
• Follow all applicable Crown College policies and procedures.
• Notify the Accommodations Team if there are any changes to the student’s diagnosis or accommodation needs.
