Kate Zydowsky, LGSW

Counselor
Kate is under supervision of Jody Goldie, LMFT and Afton Greene, LICSW

Kate provides individual, couples, and group therapy for Crown students. She is a compassionate clinical social worker who began her career in 2013. She attended Bethel University and Point Loma Nazarene University and holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work. Kate brings expertise in assessment, crisis management, multicultural engagement, and trauma-informed care. She also has advanced training in therapeutic modalities including the Immanuel Approach and Motivational Interviewing. Kate considers it a deep honor to walk alongside students as they navigate a wide range of challenges including stress, grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, eating disorders, and relational difficulties.

Jody Goldie, LMFT

Director of Counseling

Jody is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and received her Master's degree in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor's degree from University of Northwestern, St. Paul. Jody approaches the therapeutic relationship with warmth and the deep value that people and their responses make sense. She has experience working with families, couples and individuals who have experienced complex trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression and she is also able to address family, spiritual, and relational dynamics of control. Jody approaches therapy from a competency based, feminist relational perspective that has a foundation in developmental neurology. She enjoys incorporating spirituality into therapy if that is desired by the client.

She is a consultant in the Anchored Relational Therapy (formerly AIR Network) model and she is also certified in EMDR therapy. Jody is also a LMFT and LPCC Minnesota board approved supervisor. Jody has traveled in the US and internationally to speak about relational neurobiology.​

In her real life she loves to walk her dog, read, laugh very loud, play in any body of water, or find awe in very small things.

CJ Nyland

Counseling Graduate Intern
CJ is under supervision of Jody Goldie, LMFT

CJ is currently supporting our counseling team while completing the practicum component of his Master’s in Counseling here at Crown College. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Crown in 2022. During his undergraduate years, CJ was a member of the Crown Men’s Soccer team from 2018 to 2022 and now contributes to the program as a coach. He is passionate about the connection between physical and mental health and integrates this perspective into his counseling work.
